Earlier today Nerf released another video showcasing their new Elite blaster, the Rampage. We've already gotten a pretty good look at it from the Swedish site, but there are a few differences. First, there is no stock or shield attachment included. This may mean that anyone who wants a stock for their Rampage will have to buy another blaster for it.
The second thing that caught my eye is the fact that the new 25-dart drum appears to be centered. The main ergonomic problem with the original Raider drums were that they were lopsided, so if it is centered it's a major improvement.
IDK I think that the Longshot would been a better blaster for the Elite line.
ReplyDeleteYa me too. I think they should bring it back, but better than it was before
DeleteCould you be so kind and provide us with the URL to the Swedish site at which you found the Rampage information?

Okay, two things. 1:Why is it better that the drum's centred? I would have thought the darts would run more smoothly out of the lopsided Raider drum. 2:Why would they make it 25-dart, if the raider's is a 35-dart? This drum looks like s step backwards to me.
ReplyDeleteThe 35 dart drum is unpopular because it's really big and bulky, so I think they tried to fix that problem here, also the lopsided drum doesn't work well with other blasters particularly the Alpha Trooper. The centered drum will make it to where your forearm isn't rubbing on the side of the drum
DeleteI think when he says it is a "major improvement" he is referring to a stability and handling improvement. The lopsided 35 round drum of the Raider can cause the blaster to be, well, lopsided. It is much heavier on the left side and not weighted very well, and that can effect the accuracy (not that the Raider was very accurate anyway). I would have to assume that Nerf designed the new drum to feed as smoothly as the other drums, which honestly isn't much of an improvement since the Raider and Alpha Trooper drums both tend to feed like crap.
DeleteAs for the second thing, I can only say that as an HVZ player I prefer the straight 18 dart clips and the 18 dart drum over the 35. It is very big, very bulky, and can drastically effect mobility, especially when used in a Raider. The only thing I am looking forward to with this new blaster is the drum since I despise Raiders. I also hope they release the drum separately like they did with the Alpha Trooper drum. To me, the difference between 35 and 25 darts is insignificant, since I rely on speed more than anything else in my games.
Ah, right. Thanks, guys. I can see what you talking about. I usually use the 35 drum in a Stampede (I'm an ultra heavy), but I can see why these would be better in a Raider.
DeleteThe only problem that I see I'd that lefties still can't use it.
ReplyDeleteWhy hell can lefties not use it? If anything, it's more awkward for a righty, what with the massive drum in the way. I haven't used one personally but it doesn't look that bad. You just have to get creative with the reloading.
DeleteAnyone notice the LightningStorm stock in some frames of the video?
ReplyDeletecan you use the n-strike clip on the elite blasters?
ReplyDeleteI don't think nerf/hasbro is that greedy to make you buy all new clips and darts ,,
DeleteAre you sure about that? They seem to release the same item in different paint schemes over... and over... and over... just to get our money. I'll admit, I'm hooked, but it IS something I could see them doing. I hope not.
DeleteI wonder what they are using to power the hailfire and barricade because you will never be able to get 75feet off of double a's or d's you would have to use a 9 volt
